Opinion: Graphics are gorgeous. Gorgeous guys and girls.
Can I just say this manga-ka is my favourite… hands down. Her stories are always so unique and funny, poking fun at shoujo stereotypes. All of her heroines are strong too, which I LOVE.
This series is kinda different. It is completely from a males point of view. It is NOT bl (boys love) yaoi or anything of the sort so don’t worry. It is SO FUNNY. It starts off with three short stories in the first volume but narrows down in the second volume to one boy. The third story is just my favourite. Anyways, the main plot seems very sweet. These boys are boys but you can see the innocence in how they view love. It’s sweet.
Read this. Honestly, just read it.

Opinion: Beautifully tragic. It has an extremely complex story so it does take a more mature mind to get around.
The graphics are beautiful, and yet ugly. It really is a strange fascination.
Story? Wonderful. The story manages to draw you in completely. I was reading it for four hours straight and sometimes I would stop in between and just wonder what was real and what wasn’t. Infatuating. And although it was a tragedy I don’t feel sad at all. It was just sweet and beautiful to me. It felt like the way things happened were just how they were supposed to be. It flowed naturally.
Read this if you want something out of this world. Something different and something grown up.

Opinion: Very… sweet. Average graphics.
First story: Eh. I was fooled. But I didn’t really care that much about the characters. It seemed like it was all in passing.
Second Story: The best story in this anthology. Very sweet and touching. Kind of believable. Very fun.
Third Story: You can like it… or hate it. I hated the heroine but that’s my prerogative. She joins cooking school to follow the one she loves despite being HORRIBLE at cooking? Realistically, a waste of effort and time.
Fourth Story: Stupid characters and none existent plot make this slightly unbearable.
Overall? Read if you are in for something very light without any real drama. EVER.

SO IT’S FEBRUARY! Meaning a new layout with a lovey dovey theme from Candy Life.
So even if you hate the dreaded V-Day or you are lucky and have someone to spend it with, at least find some time to curl up with a good romance manga! This month I’m going to concentrate on manga that is filled with beautiful love with a little less drama/tragedy. :3

ANYWAYS! Still working on my film stuff while TRYING to R&R.
I bought volumes 3-7 of Body on the weekend.
I read it online a while ago and now that I go back to it I remember it all.
It seems to be getting worse as it goes on… but I will provide an in depth report on that later.
So again, updating is hard. Two weeks ago was a bust but last week was pretty good.
So please remain faithful and come back every weekend (at least). I’ll updates at least ONCE a week.

This is a serious story about the effects of rape. Wakana is a shy and unspectacular girl who has been text messaging the spectacular Taku for three months. Suddenly, Taku suggests that they meet, and when they do… he rapes her. Wakana goes to the police, only to go through “second rape” — the doubts of others who think she brought it on herself.

Opinion: Older drawings. From the creator of Honey X Honey Drops. A little more ordinary then her more recent work.
The first story is really sweet. About money. It was good for a oneshot but so… plain. It was good but a little boring.
Second story is short and sweet. Valentines day things.
The third one is something that everyone should read. In manga there are a lot of stories with rape, including in a lot of Minami Kanan’s work, but it is wrong. The story is strong and provides a realistic view of what its like living after rape. Read it!

Opinion: The graphics are a lot older, sketchy, but I really like the style. It’s all so 80’s you’ll howl with laughter. Guy trying to look awesome in a belly top, with sunglasses… at night? Priceless.
Anyways. So the story is extremely realistic. Has everything to do with unrequited love, puppy love, true love, and how everyone shows love diferently. The pain of unreturned love.
Some could argue that the heroine is whiny and an idiot, but I have to disagree. She just doesn’t know how to react. The story may also come off as cliche, but I think that is because it’s realistic. There aren’t any over the top problems, it is just day to day problems that everyone goes through.
It’s only three volumes. Try it.

Opinion: The graphics are fairly original. Very josei-esque. Reminded me of Tramps Like Us. Very sketchy, large, and rounded.
So there are two oneshots in one volume. I found it really realistic and soft. Three chapters per story so you do get a kind of full story. The only problem is that it doesn’t really have a plot graph. There is no real ending, but I found that part of its charm. It’s what makes it so life-like. There is no end to real life and there are no ‘happy endings’.
Final Rating: 7/10
